The Wylie FFA has a New Community Service Project!
The project; "Feed Wylie" will provide and assist struggling families who have fallen upon hardships with meat and/or meals as well as to serve as a distributor of meat to the Wylie Christian Care Center Food Pantry. It will also promote community awareness on hunger, agriculture, and nutrition.
Local Texas Breeders have stepped up to the plate and have agreed to donate feeder pigs for the FFA students to raise and have processed for meat. One pig will produce approximately 125 lbs. of meat. The students plan to raise 20 pigs per year, producing 2500 lbs of meat and/or 2500 meals which would be donated to the Wylie Christian Care Center for distribution.
This is a great group of kids that are trying to go a great thing!
